Amanda, wife of Black Stars player, Afriyie Acquah has pointed out that the person she referred to as 'Otumfuo' in her now infamous audio jibes at Kennedy Agyapong's wife, Mona is not the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II as has been widely circulated.
Amanda has been in the news since last weekend when she released an audio recording purportedly aimed at Mona, supposed wife of business tycoon and huge Asante Kotoko fan, Kennedy Agyapong who is also reported to have been in a relationship with Afriyie Acquah's wife in the past.
Amanda could be heard in the audio which went viral hurling insults and abuse on Mona including accusing her of engaging in several sexual escapades with loads of Black Stars players as well as some prominent citizens including one 'Otumfuo' which has been widely interpreted to mean the king of the Ashanti kingdom with the Manhyia palace even detailing subjects to Accra in a quest to summon her [Amanda].
But a source close to the Afriyie Acquah camp has exclusively told Allsports.com.gh that Amanda never referred to the Asantehene and insists it was mistaken identity.

"Amanda did not mean the Asantehene when she said Otumfuo, she was referring to somebody else who also goes by the same name and never the Ashanti king," the source revealed.
"Any inconvenience, embarrassment or discomfort this may have caused the Asantehene is deeply regretted and she apologises profusely for the mistake," the source added.
The source continued: "Afriyie Acquah is extremely sorry and is pleading with the Asantehene and his people to forgive and forget. He will come out with a full statement on the issue at the appropriate time.
"The player has had a tough week but he is totally focused on the Black Stars preparations towards the Africa Cup of Nations. He is determined to help the national team finally bring home that elusive 5th Africa Cup."
